Introducing… The Patio!

I’m thrilled to say that our patio is finally done!  Let me remind you of the plan we had drawn up last summer…

The job took about a week in total.  They started by ripping out the sod…

Eddie kept a close watch on the entire project…

The guys brought in lots of awesome machines to cut the sod and tamp down the sand/gravel/etc…

The retaining wall went up first…

Then the steps to the french doors in the bedroom…

Then the filler material came in…

Eddie protected the house like a champ {and he loved all the action he got to watch this week!}

And here it is completed!

There’s a nice walkway to the driveway and Eddie finally has some stairs to get in and out of the laundry room.

It’s a lot higher than I expected it would be, but I guess that’s what happens when your doors are over four feet off the ground!

There’s a set of stairs on the other side of the patio leading to our bedroom stairs…

There is room for a nice big patio table and yet there is still lots of grass for Eddie to run around on…

Eddie loves to perch in this spot and check out the ‘hood.

We ended up going with the grey pavers with a greyish red stone border.  I love the way it looks with the dark red house and charcoal roof.

One more shot of the finished product…

Next on the list: touching up the trim around the doors and doing some landscaping!

    My mom said she’d help you pick out some plants that are good for the areas and don’t require alot fo work, if you want…
